English to French, can you explain?

Just to say, Frockney is absolutely right - why on earth are you writing your stuff in English first? You're giving yourself twice as much work, you're thinking in English idioms and English constructions, which can make it more difficult for you to think of the appropriate French word/ grammar! The other thing you are doing is making a kind of prison for yourself - once you've written something in English, you get focussed on translating those exact words into French -but if you start off in French, and you can't think of a word, you just change it to something else. Maybe in English you wrote "we visited several art galleries" then when translating, you think Oh help, how do i say that.... and you waste time looking up the French for 'art gallery'' - if you hadn't made that 'prison'for yourself, you'd be writing "nous avons visit�s quelques... mus�es / jardins/ chateaux" - whatever word comes to mind. Mind seem a bit challenging at first, but honestly, it will work better for you.
